The FA Youth Cup third round proper throws out interesting ties

FA Youth Cup holders Chelsea will face Huddersfield Town at home in their first game of the new campaign, after the draw for the third round proper was made at Wembley Stadium.

With Premier League and Championship clubs now joining the competitions, there are some eye-catching ties to have been set up with matches to be played by Saturday 19 December.

Ilkeston Town will play host to Newcastle United, after a comprehensive 4-1 victory over Shrewsbury Town whilst Sunderland also make a trip to the same region as they face Mansfield Town.

Non-League Metropolitan Police also earned themselves an interesting tie as they will travel north to face Burnley at Turf Moor following a penalty shoot-out win at Yeovil Town in the second round.

The remaining second round ties are scheduled to be played by Friday 27 November.
