Emma Hayes believes her side are ready to start picking up silverware
Emma Hayes is hoping to make history on two fronts this weekend by leading Chelsea to their first Women’s FA Cup title in the first Final at Wembley Stadium.

The Blues face Notts County in the showpiece event of the women’s season, having put behind the heartache of a semi-final defeat last term.

And with a record crowd of around 30,000 set for Wembley, the Chelsea boss is looking forward to seeing her side strut their stuff at the national stadium.

"Playing in an FA Cup Final at Wembley is what every player and every coach in this country aspires to," said Hayes, who took over at Chelsea in 2012 following spells with Chicago Red Stars and Arsenal prior to that.

"Before every cup final you hear managers asking their players to play the game and not the occasion, but because this is the first-ever Women's final at Wembley I think we have to respect the day and its historical significance.

"You want to be performing on the biggest occasions on the biggest stage, so getting to Wembley is an incredible achievement for everyone involved.

"We were beaten in last year's semi-final by Arsenal and we really needed to put that result to bed and go one further this season, regardless of where The Final was.

"Having said that, we are all focused on winning. Nobody wants to be a loser at Wembley."

Eniola Aluko embraces Katie Chapman

Chelsea pair Eni Aluko and Katie Chapman will be hoping for more celebration on Saturday

Since taking over at Chelsea, Hayes believes her team have been unfortunate not to have more honours to their name.

They came close to winning the FA WSL 1 title and were beaten in the Women’s Cup and Continental Cup semi-final last season.

And they currently sit in third place in the WSL table going into Saturday’s showpiece, just one spot above the Lady Pies.

"Chelsea and Notts County are two of the best teams in the country and it will be a close game," she added.

"I think it really will be a matter of small margins but our goal, as it is every year, is to win silverware.

"We are getting closer to it. We got to two semi-finals last year and lost the League on the last day, arguably we have been one of the top sides over the last two years.

"We are due some success and the players are committed to achieving that. We've got a lot of experience in the dressing room with a lot of players who have won trophies in the past.

"We are hoping that experience will have an impact."

Tickets for The Final will be available on the day. You can buy yours from Wembley Stadium's east ticket office from midday. Tickets are priced £15 for adults and £5 for concessions
