England v Montenegro caps update

Caps are loyalty points awarded to members of the England Supporters Club and England Supporters Travel Club for attending an England men's friendly or qualifier.

Caps are allocated based on attendance - not when tickets are purchased. Two caps are awarded for attending England home friendlies or qualifiers. Travel Club members can earn two caps for attending England away friendlies or qualifiers.

No caps are awarded for attending tournament fixtures (including the Nations League Finals in 2019) and Lionesses fixtures.

What are caps?

Members can build their caps level with the aim of applying for tournaments or away matches. In the event that a tournament fixture or away match is oversubscribed, a ballot based on active caps is undertaken to fairly allocated tickets.

Club Wembley members with England Supporters Club or Travel Club accounts are advised that cap updates can take longer to be applied. If you have a Club Wembley account that is not already linked with your ESC/ESTC membership or you are attending as a guest of Club Wembley and wish to receive the caps, please email englandsupportersclub@thefa.com with both account details within 21 days of attending these fixtures.

Travel Club members who transferred their ticket(s) via the Wembley Mobile Ticketing app to non-members will not have their caps awarded as they did not attend the fixture. All members are reminded that caps are only awarded for attending England games using tickets purchased directly from The FA. No caps are awarded for non-attendance, regardless of the circumstances.

Important: Members have until Thursday 5 December to have their caps for England v Montenegro retrospectively updated. It will not be possible to apply caps to any memberships after this date. Applications for EURO 2020 will open in early December and it is for this reason that we will not respond to any caps queries related to memberships after Thursday 5 December.

General caps information

If you purchased your ticket in the general sale, the first ticket in that order will automatically be assigned to the lead booker. If you have other FAN numbers which need assigning against the tickets in the order, please email englandsupportersclub@thefa.com no later than Thursday 5 December with the order number and the FAN numbers which need assigning. If you do not include this information, we may not be able to respond to you.

When purchasing tickets for junior members, you need to do so during the priority member's sale and ensure their FAN numbers are assigned to the junior tickets in your order. We cannot assume that because a junior is linked to your account that they attend the same matches as you.

It is not possible to retrospectively apply caps now for matches that were more than 21 days ago. If you send an email requesting caps for matches that took place over a year ago, we will not respond to your request. We can only retrospectively apply caps now for the England v Montenegro match on Thursday 14 November 2019.

EURO 2020

Only members of the England Supporters Travel Club are eligible to apply for England tickets at UEFA EURO 2020 and this includes the matches at Wembley Stadium. The ticket availability and category splits for England's fixtures will be announced in the coming weeks; we cannot advise at this moment in time what the caps cut-off will be in order to be guaranteed tickets. In the event that a ballot is required for any of England's fixtures at EURO 2020, we will advise Travel Club members of the availability and process.

Only 'active' caps will be counted in a ballot; these are caps earned after EURO 2016. No caps are awarded for attending the Nations League Finals in June 2019 or the World Cup in 2018.

In the event that an England match is oversubscribed, no tickets will be allocated to members on zero caps or members who have not attended a single qualifier or friendly during this current campaign.
