Raheem Sterling scores for England against the Czech Republic

Caps updates for England v Czech Republic and Montenegro v England should be completed by Monday 1 April. Caps are loyalty points awarded to members of the England Supporters Club and England Supporters Travel Club for attending an England Men's Senior friendly or qualifier.

Caps are allocated based on attendance (not when tickets are purchased); two caps are awarded for attending England home friendlies and qualifiers. Travel Club members will earn two caps for attending England away friendlies or qualifiers.

What are caps used for?

Members can build up their caps level with the aim of applying for tournament fixtures or away matches. In the event that a tournament fixture or away match is oversubscribed, a ballot will be undertaken using the caps system to fairly allocate tickets to members.

Club Wembley members with England Supporters Club or Travel Club accounts are advised that cap updates can take longer to be applied. If you have a Club Wembley account that is not already linked with your ESC/ESTC membership or you are attending as a guest of Club Wembley and wish to receive the caps, please email englandsupportersclub@thefa.com with both account details within 21 days of attending these fixtures.

Members are reminded that caps are only awarded for attending England games using tickets purchased from The FA.

Caps FAQs

Q. How are caps allocated?

A. Caps are allocated based on attendance. For home games two caps will be added automatically within a few days of after the ticket is scanned at the turnstile. For our away fixtures Travel Club members will have their caps updated after attending. Caps are not awarded for non-attendance under any circumstances.

Q. I purchased a ticket in the general sale - can I still claim my caps?

A. If you purchase tickets in the general sale before the fixture please contact us and we can add your membership number to the order so that caps will be automatically added. If the game has passed you will be required to send an email to englandsupportersclub@thefa.com no later than 21 days after the fixture. Please include your FAN number, order number or ticket number, and an image of the ticket if possible.

Q. What happens if an away game is oversubscribed?

A. If an away game is oversubscribed tickets will be allocated using the members caps system to all Travel Club members who registered their interest. For detailed information on this please see the club rules on away ticket allocation.

Q. Why are my caps not showing up?

AAfter you have attended a game, it takes up to 4 working days for your caps to be updated as the gate data for each match has to be checked. Your caps may also not be showing if your ticket was not scanned at the turnstiles (for a home game) or if you did not collect your ticket (for an away game).

Q. How does my linked junior account receive caps for England games?

A. When purchasing tickets, you need to assign the junior member's fan number to the junior ticket in your order. We cannot assume that because a junior is linked to your account, that they attend the same games as you.

Q. How will tickets for UEFA Euro 2020™ be allocated?

A. Until England's qualification to the tournament is confirmed, we cannot advise on ticket availability and pricing. Please be aware that only members of the England Supporters Travel Club will be eligible to apply for UEFA Euro 2020 tickets through The FA (and this includes any potential England matches held at Wembley Stadium). The ticket policy for major events is one per Travel Club member so if you plan to apply as a group, each person will need to be a Travel Club member.
