Walking Football Association host quartet of Anglo-Welsh fixtures
It’s always competitive when England take on Wales and the latest round of walking football fixtures were no different.
The Three Lions’ over 50 and over 60 first team and shadow squads recorded victories over the Welsh squads on the Sir Alf Ramsey Pitch at the national football centre.
From a first team perspective, the over 50s ran out 7-1 winners while their over 60 counterparts contested an eight-goal thriller, the hosts securing a 5-3 victory.
A second squad from each age group then competed with England winning 2-0 [over 50s] and 3-1 [over 60s].
British Dodgeball
As ever, British Dodgeball continued to host their England-based national league activity on site.
Six national leagues take place at St. George’s Park with the others in Belfast, Swansea and Aberdeen.
Brewers defeat Mariners
Burton Albion U18s made it three wins in a row as a goal from Nat Morley secured a 1-0 win over top of the table Grimsby Town at a windy St. George’s Park.
The Young Brewers took the lead after just 10 minutes, when some brilliant interchange play allowed Morley to find space in the box.
He slotted the ball into the far corner, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.
Canaries host football festival
Norwich City’s Foundation age groups hosted a tournament.
The event, which also involved Swansea City and Derby County, provides an opportunity for players to play against opposition from outside of their region.
The teams [U9s-U11s] were able to use the different facilities and played a mix of football and futsal throughout the afternoon.
