The England Partially Sighted squad are in Turkey for the IBSA World Championship

The England Partially Sighted Squad are ready to play six games in seven days, starting Saturday 7 December

The England Partially Sighted squad are all set for the IBSA B2/B3 World Championships in Turkey, as they look to build on their bronze medal at last year’s European Championships. 

The Para Lions will play six games over the course of seven days in the group stage in Antalya, starting this weekend against Italy, before the final day of the tournament on Saturday 14 December. 

Head Coach Ian Bateman has named a squad of 12 for the tournament, in which his side will take on hosts Turkey, Italy, Spain, Japan, Ukraine and Russia. 

“We'll meet the challenge of six games in seven days head on,” Bateman said. “We'll give everything to win. 

“We have a talented squad who can mix it with the best teams, supported by a fantastic staff support team which will allow the players to concentrate on reaching their potential.” 

All games will be streamed live on https://futsalturkey.wordpress.com/live-stream with the following fixtures in the group games: 

Saturday 7 December: vs Italy (12pm GMT) 
Monday 9 December: vs Spain (7am GMT) 
Tuesday 10 December: vs Japan (12pm GMT) 
Wednesday 11 December: vs Ukraine (3pm GMT) 
Thursday 12 December: vs Turkey (3pm GMT) 
Friday 13 December: vs Russia (12pm GMT) 

The final day of the World Championships will see the group winner take on second place in the Final, with third place up against fourth and fifth taking on sixth to decide the final standings. 

England squad: Dylan Malpas (GK), Jose Lima (GK), Andy Cahill, Josh Pugh, Harry Gibbons, Harry Macdonald, Adam Lione, Steve Daley, Kevin Price, Tom Lamb, John McDougall, Liam Spinks.
