The FA Council meeting took place at Wembley on 11 October

Set out below is an update on the FA Council meeting which took place on 11 October 2018.

The main highlights were as follows:-

Wembley Stadium

The Council discussed the offer received from the owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars for the purchase of Wembley Stadium. Mark Burrows (Chief Financial & Operations Officer) and Alkit Patel (Head of Facilities and Investment) presented to the Council on the key aspects of the proposed sale agreement and how the £600m sale proceeds would be reinvested into community football facilities. A special meeting has been scheduled on Wednesday 24 October for the Council Members to vote on the potential sale.

Regulations

The Council is responsible for approving the various regulations which govern the game. Council approved some changes to the Women’s Pyramid Regulations as a result of the restructure of The FAWSL.
