Eden Hazard’s first-half penalty was enough to help Chelsea lift the Emirates FA Cup at Wembley with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United.
It was the Chelsea midfielder who was brought down by Phil Jones after 22 minutes with the Belgian stepping up to convert the spot-kick.
Alexis Sanchez had a goal ruled out for offside after the break for United as we look at the five things you may have missed.
Respect for Ray
Both sets of fans paid their respects to former midfielder Ray Wilkins before the match with an applause.
Wilkins – who won 84 caps for England – died earlier this year. The midfielder played for Chelsea between 1973 and 1979 and then spent five years at Old Trafford. He was then a coach at Chelsea working with Gianluca Vialli, Luiz Felipe Scolari, Guus Hiddink and Carlo Ancelotti.
Wilkins’s widow Jackie was in the Royal Box at Wembley to present the trophy to winning captain Gary Cahill in the absence of the President of The FA, Prince William, who was best man for brother Prince Harry as he married actress Meghan Markle at Windsor Castle earlier in the day.
Oliver was spot on
The only goal of the game was a Hazard penalty after the Belgian playmaker was felled by Jones.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte thought the England defender should have been shown a red card rather than a yellow, but referee Michael Oliver applied the laws correctly.
The Laws of the Game state: "Where a player commits an offence against an opponent within their own penalty area which denies an opponent an obvious goalscoring opportunity and the referee awards a penalty kick, the offending player is cautioned if the offence was an attempt to play the ball."
Giroud makes it four
Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud now has four winners’ medals in the last five years.
The striker won the competition with Arsenal in 2014, 2015 and 2017, then started Saturday’s Final and played 89 minutes before he was replaced by Alvaro Morata.
He is still three FA Cup winners' medals short of Ashley Cole, another former Arsenal and Chelsea player, who has seven winners' medals.
Mourinho sees final record tumble
Ahead of the Emirates FA Cup Final, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho had never lost a cup final in normal time throughout his career.
The Portuguese has now won 11 out of 14 cup finals since 2003, a feat which has seen him pick up silverware at Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Manchester United.
Prior to Saturday his two losses had only come in extra-time - firstly in a 2-1 defeat to Benfica in the 2003 Taca de Portugal final, and more recently a Copa del Rey defeat to Atletico Madrid in 2013.
Blues complete unique treble
The Emirates FA Cup win completed and impressive season for Chelsea across the Cup competitions.
The U18 team beat Arsenal to win The FA Youth Cup 7-1 over two legs. While Emma Hayes led the Women’s team to glory in the SSE Women’s FA Cup Final with a 3-1 win over Arsenal.
Hazard’s goal made it three Cup wins for the season for Chelsea’s teams and they are the first club to have won all three competitions in the same season.
