Tuesday 05 Dec 2017
John Griffiths will lead England in next year's U17s elite qualifying round

England have been drawn alongside Switzerland, Slovenia and host nation Norway in the elite qualifying round of the UEFA Women’s U17 Championship.

The round-robin tournament will take place between 25-31 March 2018, with the top-placed nation in the group progressing to the Euro finals, which will be staged in Lithuania from 9 to 21 May.

The Young Lionesses made it through to the final stage of Euro qualifying by defeating Latvia, Slovakia and Scotland in October.

The top three finishers in the finals will qualify for the 2018 FIFA Women's U17 World Cup in Uruguay.

Meanwhile, John Griffiths’s side will face Iceland, Azerbaijan and host nation Moldova in the first qualifying round of next year’s European Championship.

These matches will take place between 19-25 September 2018.
