World Cup Wrap: Muller's dancing and Romero's secret

Thomas Muller has shown his skills both on and off the pitch
We're another day closer to Sunday's World Cup Final in Rio de Janeiro, where Germany take on Argentina and focus is planted firmly on those two nations in Friday's World Cup Wrap.

Muller’s moves

As Germany prepare for Sunday’s final in Rio, footage of star midfielder Thomas Muller showing off a different range of skills has emerged.

The Bayern Munich man has been one of the main men for Joachim Low’s side in Brazil this summer, scoring five goals so far.

And he also has some sharp moves on the dance floor, judging by a Vine video which has gone viral since Germany’s stunning 7-1 win against the host nation in the semi-final.

Sporting a fetching pair of shorts, Muller displays a distinctive jig as he joins goalkeeper Manuel Neuer for a dance, at an unconfirmed venue.

If Germany can beat Argentina in Sunday’s final, then we may see more of that on the well-known Rio surface of the Maracana Stadium.

You can see Muller’s moves below.

Germans hoping for home cheer

Meanwhile, Germany are hoping the Brazilian fans will be backing them on Sunday when they take on the hosts’ South American neighbours and chief rivals Argentina.

Germany were given a standing ovation from the home crowd in Sao Paulo following their semi-final win on Tuesday evening.

And defender Benedikt Howedes wants the Brazilians to join forces with the Germany fans at the Maracana to cheer the team onto victory.

"All of us are hoping for support from the Brazilians," said Howedes, 26.

"I thought it was a wonderful gesture the way Brazilians celebrated for us."

Watch the footage of Sergio Romero checking his 'crib sheet'

Up his sleeve, or in his pants

We heard on Thursday how Argentina ‘keeper Sergio Romero came back to haunt his former AZ Alkmaar boss Louis Van Gaal in their semi-final shoot-out with the Netherlands.

And it’s now been revealed that the Monaco stopper had a little extra help in Wednesday’s game, courtesy of a ‘crib sheet’ stuffed deep into his shorts.

Romero was caught on camera studying the sheet before each Dutch penalty and after making two saves in the shoot-out, we can only presume it was details on where each player was likely to place their penalty.

Whether or not the sheet was in there throughout the 120 minutes beforehand remains unknown, but it’s certainly one way of ensuring the correct homework was done.

Messi's drug test selfie

With over 63m fans on Facebook, it’s fair to say the interest in Argentina superstar Leo Messi is on a pretty high scale.

Argentina star Leo Messi posted this photo on his Facebook page.

Messi posted the photo of his drug test on Facebook page on Wednesday

And the Barcelona man revealed to his followers he had to put his semi-final celebrations on hold after the victory over the Netherlands after being called in for a random drugs test.

After 90 minutes of football, let alone 120 as played by Messi in that game, it can often take a while to provide a sample due to dehydration, so the Argentine captain entertained himself by sending a photo of him sat in one of stadium’s less glamorous rooms to all of his followers.

But all eyes will be back on Messi where he’s at his most comfortable in the Maracana on Sunday.
