Andros Townsend will undergo surgery on an ankle injury
Andros Townsend is likely to miss the World Cup after Tottenham Hotspur announced the winger is to undergo ankle surgery.

The 22-year-old, who has made five appearances for England since his debut against Montenegro in October, damaged ligaments during Spurs' Premier League fixture against Stoke City on Saturday.

The club confirmed that Townsend will have an operation on his left ankle on Thursday and will be out of action for up to ten weeks.
