Today marks the end of our Footballers’ Alphabet.
For the last 26 days we have heard from some of English football’s most famous faces, past and present, as they told FATV the first word that springs to mind with each letter of the alphabet.
There have been some staple answers along the way – think ‘apple’ and ‘umbrella’ – but there have been a few more random words as well; England Women’s midfielder Anita Asante decided against the most popular answer for U, plumping for ‘ubiquitous’ instead.
Today’s letter is, obviously, Z and, unsurprisingly, one animal and a former Chelsea striker feature heavily.
