FATV captured the day here in our Lowestoft video. And McDonald’s Director of Football and England’s 1966 World Cup hat trick hero made a hat trick of trips to Maltby Juniors in Sheffield, Nuneaton Town FC and Barming Youth FC in Maidstone – meeting players, coaches and having a kick about himself to help encourage people to nominate their grassroots heroes for the FA Community Awards.
Nominations close on 11th of May and a shortlist of candidates will be selected by a judging panel which will include Sir Geoff Hurst in the search for the winners of these prestigious awards. The eight national award winners will then be announced at The FA Community Awards presented by McDonald's ceremony in October.
