How do I book onto a Football Mash Up Session?
To book onto a Football Mash Up session you have three options:
(i) Request an application form directly from your school teacher or via an FA Vauxhall Youth Officer. Just complete and return to the Officer at the start of the first session.
(ii) Search for “Football Mash Up” online and simply download and complete the form and bring it along to the Football Mash Up session.
(iii) Email FootballMashUp.[Insert Region]@TheFA.com and request an application form. This will be sent out for you to complete and bring along to the first Football Mash Up session at your chosen venue.
How many people will be in the Football Mash Up Session?
Football Mash Up session will be split into two separate one hour session from 4pm to 6pm. In those two sessions there will be a maximum of 30 young people.
Who is the Football Mash Up Session open to?
Football Mash Up sessions are open to both boys and girls. However, both groups will be separate to each other i.e. girls will only play together.
How do I know if I am booked onto the Football Mash Up Session?
You should have received an email acknowledging your interest in a Football Mash Up Session. In the next couple of days you will receive a further communication with a booking and parental consent form. You are required to fully complete signed copies and bring them along to the first session at the identified Football Mash Up venue. At the first session the FA Vauxhall Officer will confirm your involvement in the programme.
When will the Football Mash Up session run?
All Football Mash Up sessions will run for two hours and take place on a week day generally from 4pm to 6pm. The sessions will last for a ten week period at which point your FA Vauxhall Youth Officer will discuss with you your future involvement options and signpost to further football opportunities.
Who will be delivering the Football Mash Up sessions?
All sessions will be delivered by a qualified FA coach who has also undertaken FA Safeguarding training and has been CRB checked.
What will the session include?
Football Mash Up is determined by you and is focussed on fun, skills, tricks and games. The programme is also about making new friends and getting the most out of your football activity!
What kit do I need to bring to the Football Mash Up sessions?
Come along to the session in something that is comfortable for you to wear for a sporting activity that could include if required a suitable wet weather option. You will also need shin pads for health and safety reasons along with appropriate footwear (football blades/moulded studded boots or astro trainers) and maybe a drink.
How much will the Football Mash Up sessions cost?
Participants will be charged £2 each week, you will be asked to pay a small deposit of £6 at your first Football Mash Up Session (£2 for the session, £4 deposit) This will mean that Football Mash Up sessions in Week 9 and Week 10 are free of charge.
What happens if I miss a session or I want to drop out?
If you miss one session then that is not a problem. However if you miss two or more then The FA Vauxhall Youth Officer will take it that you no longer wish to be involved in the programme. Therefore, if you know that you are going to miss a Mash Up sessions due to other commitments then please make the FA Vauxhall Youth Officer aware of this. In the unlikely event that you wish to drop out then please let the FA Vauxhall Officer aware and they will then discuss this with you; if you do decide to drop out of the sessions you will be likely to lose your £4 deposit.
