Holders Germany start Euros defence with Dutch stalemate
Reigning champions Germany kicked off their UEFA Euro 2013 campaign with a point after drawing 0-0 with Holland in their Group B clash.
Silvia Neid's side, who have won the tournament five times in a row, dominated against the Dutch but failed to find the back of the net.
Dzsenifer Marozsan should have scored, but she dragged her effort wide when one-on-one with goalkeeper Loes Geurts, while Celia Okoyino Da Mbabi and Leonie Maier also spurned good chances.
Meanwhile, Holland winger Lieke Martens forced a superb save from Germany goalkeeper Nadine Angerer with a sizzling 30-yard effort.
In Group B's other fixture, Iceland held fellow Scandinavians Norway to a 1-1 draw thanks to a late Margret Lara Vidarsdottir penalty.
Vidarsdottir struck three minutes from time to rescue a point for Iceland after Kristine Hegland had given Norway the lead midway through the first half.
