Fara Williams believes England are ready for their biggest Euro 2013 display to date.
The Three Lions were just seconds away from exiting the competition on Monday before substitute Toni Duggan equalised against Russia in the third minute of added time.
This lifeline came just three days after they lost to Spain, when another 93rd-minute goal, from Alexis Putellas, went against them.
But with the other two Euro groups complete, Hope Powell’s side know a victory over France on Thursday will guarantee them a place in the last eight. A draw will leave them waiting on the result of the other Group C game between Russia and Spain.
Williams said: “We’ve got an honest bunch of girls and we know as a team we haven’t performed.
“But we know we can perform and we’ve got a lot to come.
“Going into [the France] game, the girls are confident, focused and really positive.
“We could have been out of the [Euros] if it wasn’t for the last-minute goal from Toni.
“We’ve taken positives from the Russia game and we know [Thursday] is a must-win.”
