All of England games at Germany 2011 will be broadcast live on BBC.
BBC Sport has today confirmed they will broadcast live coverage and highlights of all England’s games at the FIFA Women’s World Cup, which gets underway next month.
England’s three Group B games, against Mexico (27 June), New Zealand (1 July) and Japan (5 July) will be shown live on the BBC Red Button and the BBC Sport website with England's progress also broadcast in the same way.
The World Cup Final, on Sunday 17 July, will be shown live on BBC Three.
Highlights of England's games will also be shown on BBC Two at 11.20pm BST on the day of each game and will also be available on the Red Button and online.
“I’m absolutely delighted the BBC will be showing our games at the World Cup,” said England’s National Coach Hope Powell
“They showed all our games in 2007 and that did so much to raise the profile of the England team and of women’s football in general. The team the BBC sent out to China were very professional and I thought they did an excellent job. I know they will do just as good a job this time around.
“We are thrilled to have them on board.”
England go into the tournament in a rich vein of form, having beaten USA
, two of the world’s top five ranked teams, in the last six weeks. They qualified for the Finals by topping their qualification group unbeaten before defeating Switzerland in a two-legged play-off
Powell will submit her final squad of 21 to FIFA on Friday 10 June.
