Hope Powell has called her squad together for another training camp in preparation for Euro 2005.
National Coach Hope Powell OBE has called her squad together for another training camp as her side prepares for next summer’s UEFA European Women’s Championship.
Hope has selected several youngsters who were involved in either the Netherlands double-header victory in September or last month’s training camp.
She also welcomes back Arsenal’s England contingent, who missed the last camp due to their successful UEFA Women’s Cup quarter-final tie.
The squad will meet following the domestic fixture programme on Sunday, 21 November at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel in Accrington; the team stayed there previously when they beat Australia 1-0 in a friendly international at Burnley in September 2003.
They will then train at Blackburn Rovers FC’s Brockhall Academy training ground until Thursday, 25 November.
Meanwhile, the seventh Finalist for the 2005 UEFA European Women’s Championship will be decided this week, with Iceland and Norway battling it out to be a part of England 2005. Iceland will host Norway on Wednesday, with the return fixture scheduled for Sunday in Norway.
In the last play-off tie Italy will first play at home to the Czech Republic, with the return match scheduled for 27 November.
England qualify automatically for the Finals as hosts while world champions Germany, Sweden, France and Denmark qualifying as group winners.
Finland has already progressed through the Play-Offs after beating Russia last month. The tournament will be played in North West England from 05-19 June 2005.
