“The mood in the camp is great,” he revealed. “We are looking forward to the Norway game where a win is a must.
“I enjoyed the last time I was here - I came for the Belgium qualifying game at Middlesbrough last season. The first thing that struck me there is a real club atmosphere, it’s a fantastic environment to work.
“It’s tournament football and Stuart has massive experience. We lost the game the other night but there was no panic from Stuart, he’s knows what it takes to do well in tournaments.”
Neville left Everton at the end of the season and completed is UEFA A Licence coaching course at St. George’s Park prior to meeting up with the Three Lions in Israel.
Having played in two European Championships with England in 2000 and 2004, the ex-Manchester United defender is relishing being back with the national team set-up.
“When I finished the season at Everton I was looking forward to my holiday, and had committed myself to this a while ago,” he said.
“When I came out here it didn’t dawn on me how special it is work for England, being involved in something like this.
“Until the players turned up and you put the polo top with the crest on it hits you.
“This is the pinnacle of anyone’s career, playing or coaching, or managing, working for The FA or playing for England is, or should be, the pinnacle.”
