James Ward-Prowse enjoyed a winning debut for England Under-21s last week and is now hoping to make it a perfect double with victory over Finland on Monday.
The Southampton midfielder was in Gareth Southgate’s starting line-up at the Madejski Stadium where another debutant, Saido Berahino, scored the winning goal against Moldova.
And with the squad now based in the Finnish city of Tampere to prepare for Monday’s game, Ward-Prowse says focus is firmly on their next opponents.
He told TheFA.com: "We've analysed their weaknesses and their strengths and we've based our training around that,
“But we'll be going out to play our normal passing game to hopefully try and beat them.”
There were many aspects of Thursday’s performance which pleased Southgate and Ward-Prowse agrees with his Head Coach.
But with only one goal to show from their domination of that match, the 18-year-old is also keen to see England score a few more on Monday.
He added: "We were really decent, but a bit disappointed with our standards in the first half.
“We could have moved the ball a bit quicker, but credit to them with their last-ditch defending
"It was 1-0 and maybe it could have been four or five, but we'll be out to score some more goals on Monday night.”
