England goalkeeper Jack Butland joins Barnsley on loan from Stoke City
Barnsley have secured the services of England international Jack Butland
on an emergency 93-day loan from Stoke City.
Butland, who became England’s youngest ever goalkeeper when he made his senior debut aged 19 and 158 days against Italy last year, will go straight into the squad for Saturday’s match at Leicester.
The 20-year-old shot-stopper started out with Birmingham City, and impressed while on loan with Cheltenham Town before taking over the No1 spot at his parent club last season.
His fine form at St Andrew’s led to Stoke City spending £3.5m for his services in January this year before allowing the keeper to head back on loan to Birmingham.
