Jordan Henderson admits the England Under-21s want the summer's European Championship to start already after their incredible form continued with a 4-0 win over Austria.
The Liverpool star was part of England’s midfield as they stretched their winning streak to nine games without conceding in this friendly at Brighton’s Amex Stadium.
Henderson said: “We’re high on confidence and we’ve won the last nine games in a row and we haven’t conceded a goal.
“We’re high on confidence so we probably want the tournament to start straight away.”
Chelsea midfielder Josh McEachran, who is on loan at Middlesbrough, missed a penalty in last month’s 4-0 win over Sweden. But he made amends by scoring from the spot here.
McEachran admitted: “It was good because I had a chance in the last game from the spot but I missed so I was a bit nervous going into this one.
“But I slotted it and its good to score my first goal and I can push on from here.”
Connor Wickham marked his man-of-the-match performance by setting up the third goal and then scoring the fourth against nine-man Austria.
Wickham added: “It’s important not just for me but for the whole team.
“We’ve worked hard constantly for the last year or so towards the Finals in the summer and we’re creating chances, playing well and we can beat anyone."
