Result of the World Cup in Group C as El Salvador get first ever win in a FIFA Final
El Salvador produced the result of the FIFA U20 World Cup so far as they beat Australia 2-1 - their first ever victory in a FIFA final tournament at any level.
Diego Coca and Jose Pena scored the historic goals as the underdogs stunned their opponents, who had gone ahead after only nine minutes through Joshua Brillante.
The Aussies must have thought Brillante's superb 25-yard effort would set them on the way to victory but instead El Salvador fought back.
They had never before scored at a FIFA U20 World Cup but did so when Coca headed home after Kevin Barahona had nodded a cross back across the face of goal.
The second and winning strike came five minutes before half time when Pena prodded home after fine work from winger Miguel Ochoa.
And they almost made it 3-1 with an incredible effort direct from the kick-off in the second half - but Tomas Granitto's effort missed the target by just inches.
The result leaves El Salvador on three points, level with hosts Turkey who were beaten 1-0 by Colombia despite being roared on by a partisan crowd.
Colombia are now top of the group after Juan Quintero scored the winner to cap a superb individual performance.
It was a superb goal too, coming just five minutes into the second half. Quintero twisted one way and then the next on the edge of the box before smashing a shot into the roof of the net from 20 yards.
Elsewhere, Mexico are in danger of being knocked out early after losing for the second time in a row in Group D, this time 1-0 to Paraguay. A goal from Derlis Gonzalez in the second half was enough to earn Paraguay victory.
Mexico began well enough when Armando Zamorano hit the post but Paraguay had a goal disallowed before Gonzalez put them ahead with a fine volley.
The same player came close to a second when he fired a shot against the woodwork, while Jorge Espericueta just missed out on earning Mexico a point when his late free-kick came back off the crossbar.
Also in Group D, Greece and Mali played out a dull goalless draw. Adama Niane had Mali's best chance while Andreas Bouchalakis missed an excellent opportunity for Greece.
