It was a day of drama at the FIFA U20 World Cup on Wednesday as Ghana reached the quarter final with a 3-2 victory over Portugal - and Republic of Korea stunned Colombia by beating them 8-7 on penalties.
Ghana will now face Chile - who beat Croatia 2-0 - in the last eight while the Koreans take on Iraq, 1-0 victors over Paraguay.
Korea's triumph in the last 16 was perhaps the most dramatic, not least because they looked like winning in normal time thanks to a goal from Son Juhun.
But Colombia equalised in the dying minutes through a stunning free-kick from Juan Quintero and the match went all the way to penalties.
It was Deivy Balanta who missed the final kick for Colombia, sending Korea through in nerve-wracking fashion.
Ghana's win against favourites Portugal was also a thriller with Yiadom Boakye scoring in the last minute to seal victory.
Portugal's Aladje missed from eight yards in the first minute of the game but Ghana went ahead with a 30-yard special from Kennedy Ashia.
It took until 19 minutes from time for Portugal to equalise through centre-half Tiago Ferreira and they went ahead through an Edgar header.
But somehow Ghana fought back - levelling through Michael Anaba and then winning it with Boakye scoring from an acute free-kick almost on the by-line.
They now face Chile who beat Croatia with a Nicolas Castillo header and a Jozo Simunovic own goal.
Iraq are also through, to face Korea, after beating Paraguay 1-0 thanks to an extra-time goal from Farhan Shakor.
