Training with England’s Gerrard, Sterling and Sturridge will only help Liverpool youngster
England U19 international Jordon Ibe believes learning from the likes of Daniel Sturridge, Raheem Sterling and Steven Gerrard will help him achieve his dream of playing regularly for Liverpool.
The winger enjoyed an excellent pre-season with Brendan Rodgers’ side and he was named on the bench for their opening day 1-0 Premier League victory over Stoke City at Anfield on Saturday.
Having been handed the number 33 shirt this season, the 17-year-old is hoping that he can pick up a thing or two from his more senior team-mates and make a big impression in 2013-14.
Ibe, who is included in Noel Blake’s England U19 squad for their match with Estonia next month, said: "I'm enjoying it a lot, obviously learning from the first-team players like Gerrard, Suarez and the other lads.
"I'm just enjoying training every day at Melwood. It helps me because they guide me. I look at Sturridge and Raheem Sterling and learn a lot from them and hopefully I can build on this chance."
England U19s travel to Talinn to take on Estonia on Thursday 5 September as they prepare for the First Qualifying Round of the 2014 European Championship, which takes place in Slovenia in October.
There, they will face the host nation, Andorra and Switzerland with the top two of that group progressing into the Elite Qualifying Round next year.
