Kenny Swain has selected his squad for the Nordic Tournament later this summer.
The Young Lions travel to Norway for this year’s competition and will face opposition from the host nation, Faroe Islands and Finland in their group stage.
And a fourth game will be played against the other group containing Sweden, Denmark or Iceland to decide the final rankings for the 2013 tournament.
The annual Tournament is classed as an U17 competition, but Swain also uses the trip to look at players who he never got chance to select in the previous season’s U16s as well as options for next season’s younger group.
Swain only coaches the U17s for this tournament each year before John Peacock takes the players as Head Coach for The FA International Tournament in late August and the European Championship games after that.
The 18-man squad contains a number of new faces along with players who helped England to win the Victory Shield last year.
So Newcastle midfielder Ben Drennan, Middlesbrough pair Matthew Elsdon and Jonathan Helm, Manchester City defender Cameron Humphries, Aston Villa’s Easah Sulliman, MK Dons’ Hugo Logan and Arsenal striker Ainsley Maitland-Niles are all named in an England squad for the first time.
