John Peacock and Ryan Ledson spoke to FATV following International U17 Tournament
Head Coach John Peacock admitted he felt 'a little disappointed' after England U17s' defeat to Italy on Sunday.
The Young Lions fell behind early on thanks to Francesco De Santis's powerful header, but levelled through captain Ryan Ledson before the break.
Peacock told FATV: "I thought we played quite well first half, but we always seem to give ourselves a mountain to climb by going behind.
"But we started to then pick the game up and deserved to get back into it."
Early in the second half, a slip by Ledson on the edge of his area allowed Valerio Trani to pounce, and the striker made no mistake to seal a 2-1 victory for the Italians.
Despite being visibly upset at the end of the match, Ledson believes the experience he picked up from this week's tournament will be vital.
The Everton youngster said: "It's not nice to get beat like that.
"But the Turkey performance, and the first game with Portugal, despite the 3-1 defeat, and today's game we take some positives from it.
"It's just experience before the European qualifiers and the elites."
Peacock echoed his captains thoughts and added: "We've learnt so much about ourselves and I've learnt a lot about the players.
"We've come up against three very good teams, and it's still a work in progress, but we are getting there."
