Paul Fairclough's side will play Latvia in Jelgava in September
Latvia U23 v England C
Tuesday 10 September
Paul Fairclough will take his England C side to Latvia in September for what is expected to be a tough work-out against the Latvian U23 side.
The match will take place in the city of Jelgava on Tuesday 10 September and Fairclough will use this fixture to assess players ahead of the next International Challenge Trophy games which begins in the autumn.
England's last outing against Bermuda in June proved to be a resounding success on a number of fronts.
The performance of the squad in their 6-1 victory was outstanding, considering the number of new faces in the squad.
But the visit also provided The FA with the opportunity to create strong links with the Island and The Bermudan Football Association.
A series of community activities were undertaken with visits by the players to a number of local schools, causing wild celebrations from the children as they fired questions at the England C players.
Coaching was delivered by the England C staff to the Bermudan U15 squad and also to the national women’s team.
Fairclough said: “The Bermuda fixture provided a terrific opportunity to prepare for the forthcoming International Challenge Trophy and with that in mind, the visit to Latvia will provide a further stern test for our young side.
"This will be a new nation to compete against, with exposure to yet another style of play. These experiences continue to enhance and improve the technique and ability of our players.
"We look forward to the challenge with great anticipation."
