Kyle Walker congratulated his Spurs team-mate Andros Townsend after the winger made a stunning England debut.
Townsend put in a man-of-the-match display as Roy Hodgson’s men beat Montenegro 4-1 in their penultimate World Cup qualifier.
The 22-year-old capped his performance with a terrific long-range goal and Walker was delighted for the England new boy.
He told FATV: “Andros lives, breathes, sleeps and eats football.
“All his hard work and dedication has come off tonight and hopefully it's a stepping block for him to go on and do big things.
“Me and [Jermain] Defoe give him a bit of stick saying he's shooting but doesn't score. But he took it well and I'm made up for him, personally being a friend, hopefully it's the start of big things for him.”
The right-back picked up a yellow card at Wembley, meaning he is suspended for Tuesday’s crucial final qualifier against Poland.
A win will seal a place at next year’s World Cup finals in Brazil and Walker says he will be fully behind his England colleagues as they attempt to get the desired result.
He added: “I want to get to the World Cup, I want to be a part of the team at the World Cup.
“It's a disappointment for me, a stupid yellow card, hopefully the boys will go and get the result on Tuesday and I'll be cheering them on.
“Fingers crossed and touch wood [my next game will be a friendly] but we still have a job to do on Tuesday. We’ve still got to get a result and put in a performance.”
