England Manager Roy Hodgson at Wimbledon for tennis quarter final ties
Roy Hodgson is at Wimbledon on Wednesday as he backs British number one Andy Murray to progress.
The England Manager is a regular visitor to the tennis at SW19 every year and is hoping to see Murray beat Spaniard Fernando Vadascar in the quarter final.
Following his run to the Final last year, Murray is into the last eight again and Hodgson was invited to Centre Court's Royal Box for the afternoon alongside the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson and Nemanja Vidic.
And Hodgson hopes the 26-year-old can go one further this time, starting with Wednesday afternoon’s game which comes after world number one Novak Djokovic's clash with Tomas Berdych.
He said: “I think he’s handled it well so far and I’m hoping to see him win.
“Both Andy and Novak Djokovic are outstanding players and there is every chance that they’ll both reach the Final.
“He’ll be very well supported here and there’s no reason why he won’t do it.”
Hodgson has also re-iterated his confidence that England can go on to seal their place at the World Cup Finals in Brazil over the coming months.
The Three Lions have four qualifiers remaining in September and October and Hodgson it's now in England's hands.
He added: "I'm very confident. We have four important matches to play, with three of those at home.
"I'm confident that we have the capacity to win those."
England also face Murray's Scotland at Wembley on Wednesday 14 August and tickets are now on sale for that game by clicking here.
