Daniel Sturridge nets treble for Liverpool and Man Utd receive Premier League trophy
Brendan Rodgers hailed England international Daniel Sturridge after the Liverpool striker's superb hat-trick at Fulham.
Sturridge scored all three in Liverpool's 3-1 win at Craven Cottage and Rodgers said: "I've been mightily impressed. He is a young player who has got all the attributes to be a top European forward."
A retired England great, Paul Scholes, bid farewell to Manchester United and football for a second time on Sunday afternoon as he played in Sir Alex Ferguson's final match at Old Trafford.
And Ferguson said: "Paul is a truly unbelievable player. He has always been fully committed to this club and it has been a real privilege to work with him for so many years."
Rio Ferdinand, Phil Jones, Danny Welbeck and Michael Carrick also featured in Ferguson's Old Trafford farewell.
Ferdinand ensured the party went off with a win as his goal late on made it 2-1 to United over Swansea.
David Moyes will take over at United this summer and he also said his home goodbyes on Sunday as Everton beat West Ham 2-0.
England's Leighton Baines featured and he played a part in one of Kevin Mirallas' two goals.
