England and Arsenal forward Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain ruled out with injury
Arsene Wenger has confirmed that England forward Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be ruled out for at least six weeks with a knee injury.
The 20-year-old will now miss the World Cup qualifiers against Moldova and Ukraine in September.
Oxlade-Chamberlain picked up the injury playing for Arsenal in their opening day 3-1 defeat by Aston Villa at Emirates Stadium. He left the ground on crutches on Saturday night.
Wenger said: "He will be out for at least six weeks with a cruciate problem. We don't think it will need surgery but he will be ruled out for at least six weeks."
