Republic of Ireland captain Robbie Keane now available to play against England
Less than 24 hours after pulling him out of the squad, the FAI have confirmed that Robbie Keane is now available to play against England next Wednesday.
The Republic of Ireland captain was initially set to stay in America with his club side, LA Galaxy, as the game at Wembley falls outside of the FIFA international window.
But further discussions between Keane and Galaxy have seen the striker being released.
Keane said: "I would like to thank LA Galaxy for reconsidering their decision after further conversations between us which really means a lot to me.
“We have reached an agreement that will enable me to make it to the games and I look forward to playing my part.”
