West Ham midfielder believes Andy Carroll still has best to come for club and country
England striker Andy Carroll
can be anything he wants to be, according to West Ham United team-mate Joe Cole
The Hammers striker, who has nine caps for the Three Lions, enjoyed a loan spell at Upton Park last season before joining the club on a permanent deal from Liverpool this summer.
And Cole believes that since his arrival in East London, the former Newcastle United hitman has been growing in confidence.
Cole, who has won 56 caps for the England, said: "I've played with Andy at Liverpool and West Ham and the player who is playing for West Ham is full of confidence, strong, aggressive and you can see what a great player he is.
"He had a difficult time at Liverpool, but the West Ham Andy Carroll is a real handful and a top player. He'll be looking at getting in the England squad and he can be anything he wants to be.”
Cole, speaking to West Ham TV, said the 24-year-old should aim for the very top, adding: "You can look at a [Didier] Drogba, that's the level he can get to. He's a good lad and we're glad to have him here."
