England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson is looking forward to seeing Shaun-Wright Phillips in action tonight.
EXCLUSIVE: England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson heads to Elland Road tonight, with Shaun Wright-Phillips among the players he's most interested to see.
Premier League: Leeds United v Manchester City (8pm)
It's a perfect match for Sven to attend, with plenty of England players of all ages set to be involved.
Wright-Phillips is one of the Premier League's in-form players, so it is an opportune time for Sven to assess his form.
"There are a few England players for me to look at and of course I am looking forward to seeing Shaun Wright-Phillips play," Sven told us before heading north.
"He has done better and better this season and is scoring goals too now. If he continues like this, playing the same way every week, then it is sure I will be taking notice of him."
Eddie Gray's Leeds United are in desperate need of some points in tonight's clash and one player who'll be raring to go is Alan Smith. The England striker has been playing well over the past few games and he'll want to impress after playing his first game for England since 2002 out in Portugal.
Also in the Leeds squad are Under-17 striker James Milner - the youngest ever scorer in the Premiership, Seth Johnson, and 16-year-old Aaron Lennon
Manchester City and England goalkeeper David James is doubtful for the match after suffering a gashed knee but Under-21 cap Joey Barton and in-form Robbie Fowler are fit for the visitors.
Other England internationals who are in line for a place in Kevin Keegan's improving side include Trevor Sinclair and Steve McManaman.
The England squad for the friendly in Gothenburg will be named exclusively on TheFA.com on Saturday 27th March.
