Following media stories today, The FA's Head of Media Relations Adrian Bevington made the following statement..."The Football Association still support Sven-Goran Eriksson as strongly as ever.
"There is great respect at The FA for his results as England coach, with eight consecutive victories behind him, and his strong relationship with his players.
"Sven was also involved and consulted throughout the talks over the past couple of days.
"We now look forward to further success with him, including hopefully the team's participation in the European Championships next summer."
Meanwhile, Manchester United have confirmed the importance they place on maintaining a positive relationship with The FA.
Following The FA's decision not to include Rio Ferdinand in the England squad to face Turkey, Manchester United's Director of Communications, Patrick Harverson said on Friday:
"While we have had our differences over this affair, we do look forward to working with The FA in a constructive and co-operative manner in the future in a whole number of areas.
"It's important that the club and the governing body of this country have a good working relationship."
