Tom is a Manchester United midfielder whose experience of League football has all come while he has been on loan to other clubs.
He scored twice in 15 League One appearances for Leicester City in 2008-09 and signed for a similar spell with Watford in August 2009, making his Championship debut on the same day at Nottingham Forest. During the 2010-11 season, the Basingstoke-born former Bradford City youth player scored four goals in 25 Premier League appearances while on loan at Wigan Athletic.
For England he scored twice for Brian Eastick’s U20s in a 5-0 friendly win against Montenegro at The Hawthorns before making his debut for the Under-21s as a substitute for Junior Stanislas in the UEFA Championship qualifier against Macedonia in Prilep on 4 September 2009, impressing so much that he started the next four internationals.
Cleverley was part of Stuart Pearce's squad who reached the 2011 UEFA U21 Championship Finals in Denmark, starting two of England's three games. In total he featured 16 times for the Under-21s.
On 8 August 2011, Cleverley received his first call up to Fabio Capello's senior team for the Wembley friendly with Holland.
