- The Boot Room
- 01 January 2013
In this session, Pete Sturgess, FA national lead 5-11, outlines the benefits of helping young players to stay on the ball.
Key objectives
Develop player understanding of:
- how to use creative and clever play to protect the ball from the opposition
- recognising danger and using the body to protect the ball
- the benefits of staying on the ball rather than playing the easy pass
- how to identify space to move into.
