SESSION: controlling and progressing possession

    FA youth coach educator, Tom Curtis, works on controlling and progressing possession with a group of U15 academy players.


    This session is currently for reflection purposes only and any current activity taking place must follow government and FA guidelines.

    Key objectives

    Help develop player understanding of:

    • when to play forward and when to be patient and retain the ball
    • how to build attacks through controlled possession
    • how to provide security and structure behind the ball during attacks.
