Become part of our

Affiliate Tutor workforce

If you have aspirations of tutoring education courses on behalf of The FA you must first apply for an FA Affiliate Tutor licence.

Our FA Affiliate Tutor licences cover the full breadth of education areas across the grassroots game - including coach education, medical and safeguarding. Details of each licence will vary in terms of qualification requirements, minimum delivery and expected rates of pay, all of which is outlined within the licence requirements document’s hosted further down this page.

To apply for an FA Affiliate Tutor licence you will need to submit an application form and follow the recruitment process for the course you have applied to tutor. Application forms will be made available during the application window. Recruitment is conducted on a needs-based and therefore each recruitment phase will vary depending on licence types required.

The process will vary depending on the type of licence you apply for. The first stage for all licences is the application form. This gives applicants the opportunity to evidence their skills and experiences against the requirements of the licence they’re applying for.

Applicants are scored against a shortlisting matrix and the strongest are taken to the next stage. The second stage of a licence application can involve a face-to-face interview and/or other assessment tasks.

The FA Introduction to Coaching Football – Tutor Recruitment

FA Education is committed to supporting football coaches in the role that they do, at every level of the game.  As part of our new strategy to meet the needs of today’s coaches, harness digital capabilities and create personalised and connected learning experiences, a new Introduction to Coaching Football course is being launched.

This new course, which will replace the FA Level 1 in Coaching Football, is designed to provide learners with an introduction to coaching the game. It will give coaches more confidence in their role and help them run a team in a safe, fun and enjoyable way.

The course will run over four weeks, with learners given access to weekly topic videos, national webinars, coaching resources, e-learning modules and The FA coaching community. As coaches progress through each week of the course, they will experiment with topic themes, coach their players, and utilise course experiences.

To ensure effective delivery of The FA Introductory to Coaching Course, we are currently recruiting for Tutor and Social Community Mentor roles. For further information about these roles and to apply, please see below relevant links:
