World Cup insight and an England victory for our FA Level 5 Alumni
For 70 of England’s most qualified football leaders, a packed out Wembley Stadium provided the perfect backdrop for an evening of reflection and of looking to the future at The FA’s Level 5 Alumni national event.
The group, made up of FA Level 5 (UEFA Pro) Licence and Technical Director graduates - including England legend Stuart Pearce, Southend United manager Chris Powell, and Crystal Palace’s Steven Reid - had been invited for an afternoon World Cup review presentation by technical director, Dan Ashworth.
It was a chance to get a detailed insight to the preparation, approach, and strategies that combined behind the scenes to support England men’s joint highest tournament finish since 1966.
After the presentation, the group took their seats to watch the next generation of Three Lions stars claim their place in the next stage of the UEFA Nations League after a show-stopping comeback against Croatia.
The FA Level 5 Alumni programme was launched in 2017 in response to The FA’s commitment to providing more support for coaches and elite scouting professionals beyond their Level 5 qualifications.
Last season, The FA successfully ran six regional events for Alumni members around the country, and this season there have already been two events that have supported more than 110 Level 5 graduates.
And by creating this graduate network, the aim is to not only supply more frequent learning opportunities but to also connect this elite community, uniting them as leaders, and creating a culture where professional talent can develop professional talent.
