Futsal conference gets a fantastic response from all involved
When it comes to the futsal education calendar, there’s no bigger day than The FA’s Futsal Conference at St. George’s Park.
More than 220 attendees visited the national football centre for our 2019 event - Fast Forward with Futsal - which took place on 16 March.
We had nine speakers from across English and international futsal, including England head coach Mike Skubala, Spain’s futsal technical director Venancio Lopez Hierro and Portugal women’s head coach Luis Conceicao. While our popular technical lead for 5-11, Peter Sturgess, was also on hand to share this expertise on working with young players.
It’s safe to say, the day received a positive reception from those who attend.
Such a positive response didn’t surprise our England head coach, Mike Skubala, who spoke to us after the event:
“It's been a fantastic day,” he told us.
“Every year it seems to get better and better, and you can see how much people are taking from all that’s on offer through the day.
“It’s especially positive for us to see so many people connect with the theme and to our new futsal strategy.”
The theme for the day - Fast Forward With Futsal - was a direct link to our new strategy, launched in September 2018 with the aim of making futsal the game of choice for young players. The conference provided the perfect opportunity to share it with enthusiastic coaches.
As the only national event of its kind in the country, the conference provided a great opportunity for coaches to connect with peers from across the game to strengthen connections and share experiences of futsal.
