VIDEO: David Beckham press conference
Watch David Beckham as he chats to the media about Rooney, Paraguay and the World Cup.

David Beckham believes that the team can handle the nation's expectations in the World Cup and forecasts the country's biggest-ever party will take place - if England lift the trophy.

The England captain said: "Without a doubt, these players can handle the expectation. We know about the expectation about our country and rightly so because we've got some of the best young talent and some of the best experienced players in both Europe and the world.

"So we are very lucky in that case and we've just got to go into this competition and have the belief and, to be honest, we do have the belief."

Ahead of the opening Group B match against Paraguay, Beckham thinks that a World Cup-victory parade back in the UK would be something very special.

He added: "I think if something like that did happen to us then I think our country would see things they'd never seen before.

"I think with what happened with the cricket and the rugby - that was huge. But if that was to happen with football then we would see something special."
