Sweden 1-0 Paraguay

2006 World Cup Finals, Group B
8pm (BST), Thursday 15 June 2006
Olympiastadion, Berlin

Freddie Ljungberg's 89th-minute header earned Sweden a 1-0 victory over Paraguay in Berlin and gave them a huge boost in their chances of qualification to the second phase.

The Arsenal man's goal puts Sweden in second spot in Group B, two points behind England, meaning a point against Sven's men in Cologne on Tuesday will be enough to confirm their passage to the last 16 - even if Trinidad can get a result out of Paraguay.

For the Paraguayans, however, the late goal spelt heartbreak, ending their hopes of progressing to the second round.
