Theo Walcott, Arsenal's flying youngster, has now set two England records inside a week.
At Reading's Madejski Stadium last Thursday he substituted for Michael Owen an hour into England's 'B' international with Belarus to become the youngest player at that level. At 17 years 70 days he beat the mark set by the legendary Duncan Edwards more than half a century ago.
The late Manchester United defender was 17 years 174 days old when he faced West Germany 'B' in Gelsenkirchen on 24 March, 1954.
But, more significantly, Theo became England's youngest ever Senior player at Old Trafford on Tuesday night at 17 years 75 days. He came on for Owen again in the 65th minute to eclipse the record set just three years ago by Wayne Rooney.
After the game, Theo, in his first experience of full international football initially changed his shirt with a Hungarian opponent.
On realising what had happened the England backroom staff went into the opposition dressing room to go and get it back for him and his family to keep.
As the shirt worn by the youngest ever player to play for England, it's certainly a memento Theo will look back on with pride for the rest of his life.
Rooney's mark of 17 years 111 days was set in the Australia friendly on 12 February 2003. When he ran on for the second half at a chilly Upton Park, he beat a record that had stood for an astonishing 123 years. James Prinsep, an unfamiliar name now, was 17 years 252 days old when he made his one and only England appearance against Scotland at Kennington Oval on 5 April 1879.
England's latest debutant has another record in his sights…youngest England goalscorer. At the moment that's another Rooney record at 17 years 317 days.
