Barnet slammed ten goals past Reading Royals in the last round of the competition, but found themselves on the receiving end in their Fourth Round tie at Reynolds Field yesterday afternoon.

Everton, a division higher and with a sprinkling of internationals in their team, were 6-0 up at half-time and added three more goals in the last ten minutes.

Mo Marley's Merseyside outfit have already won through to this season's FA Women's Premier League Cup Final and beat the Bees 6-0 at home in September.

In bright sunshine the home side managed to keep Everton's pacy forwards at bay for ten minutes, but three goals in the next seven minutes virtually ended the match as a contest.

Barnet 'keeper Cherie Rowlands, perhaps tempting fate in a No.13 jersey, palmed down a left-wing cross to present Michelle Evans with an easy chance to open the scoring from close in. Two minutes later Rowlands fisted Jo Potter's right-wing corner into the air and central defender Fern Whelan bundled in a second.

Then Jill Scott was fouled out on the left and was on hand to convert Jody Handley's free-kick to make it 3-0 after just 17 minutes.

The home side found it hard to make any impression in attack. Even Stacey Sowden, 19 goals this season, was restricted to one effort that was blocked and another that went well over.

Evans and Amy Kane contributed further goals on 27 and 44 minutes and Handley chipped an excellent sixth during a bizarre nine minutes of stoppage time.

Barnet upped their game in the second half, stemming the tide by putting in some timely tackles. Perhaps they had given Everton a little too much respect in the first period. There were no further goals until the 82nd minute, when substitute Michelle Hinnigan made it seven.

With the visitors rampant against a tired-looking Barnet in the closing minutes, two Everton players stood aside to allow Rachel Unitt to rifle in an eighth and Handley completed the rout in injury time.

It was a good afternoon for goals in The FA Women's Cup, with an 11-1, a 7-0 and two 6-0s.
