VIDEO: Second Round - Coventry 2-1 Derby

Coventry striker Keeley Lowe scored twice as Coventry beat Derby to reach the Third Round.

Radcliffe Olympic Ladies FC were celebrating on Thursday when they were presented with their prize for picking up The FA Women’s Cup sponsored by E.ON ‘Team of the Round’ award.

The UNISON East Midlands Premier League team were nominated for their defeat of Wolverhampton Wanderers WFC in the First Round of The FA Women’s Cup on 28 October.

Having started their FA Cup journey in the First Round Qualifying, Radcliffe managed to defeat Wolves, who were relegated from the Premier League last season and are still a league above Radcliffe.

After being drawn at home, Wolves WFC were expected to complete a comfortable win; however, Radcliffe played to the top of their ability and went into the half time break with a well-deserved 2-0 lead. Wolves managed to pull a goal back in the second half, but Radcliffe sealed the win late on with a well taken counter-attack goal.

Team Manager, Rob Wilson said: "As the manager I’m very proud that we have won this award and very proud of the performances that have got us this far in the competition.

"As a small club we're always looking to raise the profile of the club and this award is for all the efforts on and off the field that go in to making Radcliffe Olympic Ladies FC a success."

The team will win kit, courtesy of Cup sponsors E.ON, and tickets for The FA Women’s Cup Final in May at Nottingham Forest FC.

The team however bowed out at the weekend in the Second Round Proper where they were defeated 5-0 away to Middlesbrough LFC.
