Chelsea maintained their unbeaten run away from home in the League after a goalless draw at Liverpool.
However, there was little festive cheer for the Blues who had targetted maximum points from their journey to Skelmersdale.
"We are disappointed we did not pick up three points," said Chelsea skipper Casey Stoney, whose side had to battle away in awful weather. "One point is not good enough.
"We are glad the game got played but we need to deal with conditions and different tactics teams use against us."
Such was the heavy rain that the players only found out the game was going ahead at 1.20pm. Once the referee blew his whistle, Chelsea struggled to get going although they will look back on a number of chances which were not capitalised on.
Liverpool 'keeper Nicky Davies made an excellent double save to keep the Blues at bay before Emma Whitter broke clear on the left to slide her shot wide of the far post.
Chelsea's England U19 striker Ellen White also had a good chance but her turn and shot was well gathered by Davies.
Liverpool struggled to fashion anything of note and only had Faye McCoy's 40-yard effort, which was easily held by Siobhan Chamberlain, to show for their efforts.
The hosts had the two best chances of the second half. First Cheryl Foster slipped when she was about to pull the trigger; then Jill Hart sent in a powerful diving header in the dying moments which Chamberlain had to be at her best to save.
