Maz Gauntlett scored twice as Birmingham came from two goals down to grab a point after a six-goal thriller against Doncaster Belles.
However, despite their resilience the Midlanders will be disappointed not to have picked up all three points having gone 3-2 ahead only for the visitors to level.
On a day when there were only two fixtures in the National Division of the Premier League, it was Doncaster Belles who started brightly at Redditch United's ground.
They took the lead on 22 minutes when Precious Hamilton capitalised on a defensive error and slotted into the bottom corner.
It was 2-0 eight minutes later, the unmarked Carla Cantrell planting a header past Birmingham's exposed goalkeeper.
Birmingham sparked their comeback in the 33rd minute as Gauntlett latched on to a loose ball and powered home with her left foot.
The same player then hauled the hosts level three minutes later, coolly lobbing the Doncaster keeper after racing on to a delightful through ball.
After four goals in just 14 minutes, the spectators had to wait until the 59th minute for the net to ripple. Laura Bassett was on target from the spot after Amy Turner had been penalised for a foul to put Birmingham 3-2 ahead.
But Birmingham's dream of hanging on to the points were dashed by the goal of the game after 67 minutes when Cantrell showed remarkable composure to flick up a loose ball and slam it home.
