Arsenal extend lead

Arsenal Ladies extended their lead at the top of The FA Tesco Women's Premier League last night with a 4-2 away win at Doncaster Rovers, whilst Everton kept their title hopes alive.
Doncaster Rovers Belles 2-4 Arsenal
Doncaster made Arsenal battle for a win for the second time this season but were unable to prevent the Gunners opening a massive thirteen point lead at the top of the table.
Yvonne Tracy put the visitors in front just two minutes and although Liz Hansen took little time to equalise, Lianne Sanderson restored the lead before half-time.
Jayne Ludlow struck to give the Gunners a 3-1 advantage before Precious Hamilton pulled a goal back on 64 minutes but Sanderson's second followed just three minutes later for a 4-2 victory.
Everton 5-1 Blackburn Rovers

Rovers went ahead through a first minute Natalie Preston effort but it took the hosts just six second-half minutes to turn the game in their favour. Natasha Dowie netted the reply, before Fara Williams converted from the penalty spot.
Jody Handley gave Everton a 3-1 lead in the 70th minute and Jo Potter added a late brace to confirm a victory that takes Mo Marley's side above Blackburn.
Everton still trail the leaders by 17 points and with just half their fixtures completed, have four games in hand. But to have any chance of wrestling the title from Arsenal, they must take all three points when they visit the reigning champions on April 13th.
